A Girly Birthday Card

I picked up a Cricut Explore on Boxing Day and I am in love! By far their best machine yet and I have been playing around with it a bit and have made a few cards. Today I will share this girly birthday card that I made with the Slumber Party Cartridge.

I cut out the nail polish and the lipstick from light pink, dark pink, white and black cardstocks. I added some dimension with ink before piecing them together. I didn't add the background frame shape that comes with these images (one is a circle and the other is a rounded square shape). I added some extra white high lights with some cardstock and a gel pen. I printed the text directly on the patterned paper with my laser printer (font is Bookman Old Style) and added the nail polish and lipstick with foam tape.

I embellished the card with some flowers made from a flower punch and black rhinestones for the centre. I think this one turned out cute and girly.

Thanks for visiting!

Welcome to my brand new blog.

Hello and welcome. I can't tell you how many times I have started a paper crafting blog in the last few years. Somehow I never manage to keep up with it and then I end up deleting it because it sits there for so long. Well I am on to a new crafty blog. This time I plan on incorporating both my cards and layouts and hopefully that will give me enough content to keep it going. I have been scrapbooking and making cards for almost twenty years (time flies when you're having fun!) So you will find a variety of each here on the blog. Since its almost Christmas I will start the blog off with a holiday card.

For this Christmas Card I used this sweet skate die by Quickutz and tied some floss through the holes for the lace. I die cut it from red and silver cardstock and pieced it together. The tag and scalloped frame are a PTI die and I die cut them from white and Kraft cardstock and stitched around the outer portion of the tag before adding a metal eyelet and some red and white baker's twine. I used a mini snowflake punch and added a few mini snowflakes and attached the tag to the card with foam adhesive. The background paper is from my scrap bin but if my memory serves me I believe it is by SEI. This is a tall and skinny card measuring 3.25 x 6.5".

If you like my card, please leave me a comment and let me know. I would love to hear from you!
